Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is right around the corner. If you have a chronic illness chances are you have a long list of people on your medical team that you want to do something nice for. Its hard to think of the perfect gift for doctors and nurses who have done so much for you.
The perfect gift though might be easier then you think. I would like to suggest to you that the best gift you can give your medical team is a card. Now you may be thinking "A card is a lame gift" and it can be if not done right. I am not talking about just buying a premade Christmas card and sending it to them off the shelf. I am talking about taking the time to hand write a card and thank them for all that they do.
We live in a society that in many ways has become entitled and thankless. When its someone's job, we don't feel the need to say thank you. So this Christmas, I encourage you to fight back against that societal norm and say thank you. Thank your doctors, nurses, receptionists, etc. for going above and beyond, for caring, for having empathy, and anything else special that you appreciate that they do. I can guarantee it will mean a lot to them.
If you aren't chronically ill, I encourage you to still take time to write some thank you cards. You can thank your mailman, your hair dresser, your pastor, your family members, etc.
Lets be people who say "Thank you" and make people feel appreciated this Christmas!
