Chronically Patient
Being a patient isn’t easy these days. The medical world is complex, overwhelming, and often frustrating. Even something as simple as scheduling an appointment for a sore throat can feel like an uphill battle and somehow still cost hundreds of dollars.
For me, living with a chronic illness has meant becoming a chronic patient. I’ve spent countless hours sitting in doctors’ offices, making phone calls to insurance companies, and learning how to navigate a system that isn’t built for simplicity or compassion. Along the way, while managing my health, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management and later a master’s in Public Health and Healthcare Administration.
Through it all, I’ve discovered something important: to be a patient, you need patience. You have to be chronically patient.
This blog was born out of that realization. My goal is to help others find their way through the maze of modern healthcare, sharing what I’ve learned about self-advocacy, persistence, and finding hope even on the hardest days. I hope you’ll stick around for stories, tips, and practical tools to help you survive and maybe even thrive in the medical world.
