Being a patient isn’t easy these days. The medical world is incredibly complex and incredibly frustrating. Even a doctor’s appointment for a simple sore throat can be difficult to schedule and cost hundreds of dollars. With my own chronic illness journey I have in many ways become a chronic patient. I have spent countless hours in doctors’ offices and on the phone dealing with insurance. While going through the early years of my illness I also received a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management. Through it all I have learned in order to be a patient you have to have a lot of patience; you must be chronically patient. It is my goal through this blog to help people navigate the medical world and learn to advocate for themselves. I hope you’ll stick around for tips and tricks for surviving the medical world.
